Fertilizer Spreaders

Lawn spreaders are a quick and efficient way to spread seed and fertilizer, weed and pest control products, even salt in the winter. Flow settings can be set from fine for grass seed to coarse for fertilizer by hand dials. There are a variety of hopper capacities and spreading widths to choose from. The size of your lawn will determine what type of spreader you should purchase.

Broadcast or rotary spreaders are best for larger lawns and "feathers" the fertilizer out into a wide pattern. They are best for lawns that don't have flower beds or gardens in the middle, since they spread material up to 30' feet away. Most rotary spreaders are the push variety that feature a hopper on a metal cart.

Drop spreaders are the best choice for small yard areas. They dispense the material straight down from the hopper with the pull of a hand lever that you operate manually. They do tend to take a bit longer to get the job done, but they offer precise coverage. A typical spread is an 18"-22" path depending on the size of the spreader.
